WHAT IS GOING ON HERE? Bay FC is a new National Women’s Soccer League expansion team. It was started by four former US Women’s National Team players: Brandi Chastain, Leslie Osborne, Danielle Slaton and Ally Wagner.

The Big Poppies were founded by their husbands and one other guy. The women are leading the charge on the pitch and in the front office while the fellas are here to support the team, wrangle the munchkins, and have some fun in the process.

Our goal is to start a supporters group unlike any other. Family forward. This is certainly NOT a dad only or male only club. This group is for everyone.

IS THIS JUST A PLOY TO GET TOGETHER WITH FRIENDS AND FRIENDS OF FRIENDS AND MAKE NEW FRIENDS AND DRINK BEERS? Pretty much.

IS IT A NON-PROFIT? We are in the process of creating a 501(c)7 and will update our members once this is ready.

WHAT DOES IT COST? Right now, nothing. But we expect to collect modest member dues to support our member activities.

DO THE BIG POPPIES SIT TOGETHER? You can if you want.

The Bridge Brigade is the original supporter group and they will be leading cheers in the Bay FC Supporter Section. Big Poppies are welcome to join that section, but “chant” participation is encouraged if you are in that section. Otherwise sit wherever you want and root for the team.
